I’ve been slightly concerned about how our daughter’s sleep patterns may be affected by travelling so I did… Some googling (good old Dr google haha), and stumbled across the Cozigo (formerly called the Fly Babee).
The Cozigo cover is both a stroller and airline bassinet cover, designed to help address the issues of getting a baby to sleep whilst on an airplane. It has is a pop-up design that attaches to airline bassinets and strollers, blocking out 97% of light and movement. It also claims to be 100% breathable, providing baby with a cosy, distraction-free environment so that they can sleep practically anywhere!
We’re due to fly in a week, and our Fly Babee cover arrived in the post a couple of weeks ago. I’ve been using it during morning walks when trying to settle my daughter through a couple of days where she was having trouble sleeping, and also used it while I was out shopping. As far as I can tell, it worked very well, and my daughter appeared to sleep soundly whilst I was running errands without the distraction of the bright lights of the supermarket forcing her awake. So as an everyday sleep aid, light blocker and sun protector, it’d actually great.
We also tried it out on our umbrella travel pram (we bought a lightweight steelcraft holiday stroller), and it fit perfectly. The dome shape of the cover will also allow us to drape a mosquito net over the travel pram, which otherwise would have been tricky given the shade cover is shorter than on our everyday pram.
The real test, however, will be when we fly next week.
Wish us luck.
